We Indians are rich in history. We love festivals because they break our ordinary routine, bring us together and give us purpose and joy. Without festivals, we feel a sense of emptiness in our everyday living. This year, the year 2022, has finally brought us to our true nature, the nature of celebrating every reason we get.

Ganesh Idol – Size not restricted

Due to the pandemic in the past three years, the Gujarat Government had levied a limit on the size of the idol of Lord Ganesh. Idols that were to be placed in public places had to be within the height of four feet and Idols that were to be placed in homes had to be within the height of two feet.

On March 31st 2022, to everybody’s joy, Gujarat’s Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel released a statement saying that all the pandemic-related restrictions have been lifted from every celebration. The guidelines for immersing Ganesh idols have remained the same, nevertheless. Plaster of paris and other plastic idols are prohibited by the rules, among other things. Additionally, specific rules for idol immersion have been published.

Hence, this year people are expecting to go all into the celebration and recover all the joy they have missed out on in the past 3 years.
