Patel is a pioneer in the Organized Housing and Construction Industry of Ahmedabad. He commenced the Real Estate and Construction business way back in the early 1960s with projects in affordable housing, row housing, industrial developments, etc. Under the aegis of Ganesh Housing, he brought private players to the forefront thereby accelerating the pace of real estate development in the city.

Under the Chairmanship of Shri Govindbhai, the Company came out with an IPO (Initial Public Offering) in 1993. Ganesh Housing is one of the first real estate development companies to receive an ISO 9001:2000 certification from world renowned Intertek (formerly known as KPMG) for its construction methodology and quality. Govindbhai firmly believed that it’s the values of today that shape our tomorrow and it was under his stellar leadership that Ganesh Group came to be known for their quality, transparency, and trust. During his lifetime he received various awards and accolades for his outstanding contribution to the Real Estate and Construction Industry, including a Lifetime Achievement award in 2011. He strongly believed in giving back to the society in a big way and supported several initiatives like girl child education. He was an active contributor and trustee in various divine trusts including Sarkhej Roza Trust, several Jain Derasars, temples and institutions. He formed a trust that supports causes such as Education, Healthcare and Organ Donation even today.
